Riikka Nurminen

In short: nine years reporting on payments and fintech, now spent timing casino withdrawals instead of bank transfers. Everything published on this site is tested on a real account with real money, and the log is what the pages are built from.

About the author: who she is

Riikka Nurminen grew up in Kuopio and now lives and works in Turku. Before gambling, her beat was payments: nine years of writing about card rails, instant transfers, wallet providers and the fintech companies trying to shorten the gap between a request and the money arriving. That background is the reason this site is organised around cashier timings rather than around bonus banners.

She is the author of every English page here and the Finnish ones at the root of the domain. The byline is not decorative — where a page says a payout took one to two hours, she is the one who watched the clock.

Her expert area is narrow on purpose: how money moves in and out of a gambling account, and what slows it down. She is a payments expert first and a games writer second, which is why an Igni Casino expert opinion on this site starts with the cashier log rather than with the lobby.

How she tests

The method is deliberately boring. She registers under her own legal name, sets a deposit limit before funding anything, sends a real deposit, plays with it, then requests a withdrawal and records the timestamp at both ends. Verification is submitted on registration day, so the first payout can be compared honestly against later ones.

Nothing is taken from a press release or an operator help page unless the page itself says so. When something cannot be verified from a player account — the identity of a licence holder, for example — the text says it cannot be verified and points you at the public register instead of guessing.

The four criteria she scores on

  1. Does the money come back, and how fast. Measured per rail, on a verified account, from confirmed request to spendable funds.
  2. Do the terms mean what they appear to mean. Wagering contribution, maximum bonus stake and withdrawal minimums are read line by line before anything is written about an offer.
  3. Is the licence checkable. A regulator name and number in the footer that can be found in a public register, covering the domain you are actually on.
  4. Can a player stop. Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders and self-exclusion have to be reachable in the account, not hidden behind a support ticket.

Three things she will not write about

What she is not

She is not a lawyer. The notes on Finnish regulation and on the tax treatment of winnings inside and outside the European Economic Area are general information gathered from public sources, not legal or tax advice for your situation.

She is also not an auditor. She does not inspect random number generators, hold laboratory certificates or have access to an operator back office. What she has is a player account, a stopwatch and nine years of knowing which questions to ask a payments provider — and where that runs out, the pages say so.

Corrections policy

Operators change terms without notice, and a review is a snapshot. If a figure on this site no longer matches what the cashier shows, the cashier is right. Corrections are made at the source rather than appended as a note, and the page is re-checked in full rather than patched in one line, because a single stale number usually means several.

Her scoring method is set out in the Igni Casino review, the timings behind it come from the payments guides, the site rules and independence policy are on the about us page, the commercial arrangement is described in the affiliate disclosure, and the brand overview starts on the English homepage.

What this means in practice

Read the author line the way you would read a byline in a consumer magazine: as an answer to the question of who is accountable if a page is wrong. On this site that answer is one person, in Turku, who tested the thing and can be corrected.
